Mag. Dr. Peter Untersperger was CEO from 2009 until May 2015, and prior to that (from 1999) CFO of the Lenzing Group. Under his leadership, in the period from 2009 – 2012 the Lenzing Gruppe achieved the best results in corporate history. Mag. Dr. Untersperger subsequently implemented a massive restructuring program with great success.

Dipl.-Ing. Ariane Herzog

Dipl-Ing. Ariane Herzog, who studied Geological Engineering and Applied Geosciences at the Technical University of Berlin, began her professional career in 2009 as a mining operations engineer at K+S KALI GmbH. Most recently, she served there as deputy manager of the staff department and the mining engineers.
In 2017, the Baden-Württemberg native moved south to the Salzkammergut. At Salinen Austria AG, alongside managing mining engineering projects, she was also in charge of a task force for implementing an internal optimisation process. Since October 2019, Ariane Herzog has been the operations manager of the Ebensee saltworks. In this time, several major projects have successfully been completed, with the building of a new dryer building currently in the final stages.

Kurt Thomanek has served as CEO of Salzwelten GmbH since 2007. In his time, the number of visitors increased from 320,000 to 635,000. Before Thomanek went through teacher training at Pädagogische Akademie Salzburg, specializing in subjects mathematics, sport and technical drawing, he had studied plastics technology at Montanuniversität Leoben. In the course of his in-service professional development, he also acquired valuable managerial skills and strategic know-how in the form of a business management diploma.
